Wow I am finally getting back to my running blog. I have been training on the treadmill with no real direction or goal. I am starting my spring buildup with 2 main goals:

1) Stay healthy and injury free
2) Improve my aerobic fitness

I ran outside today for the first time since last fall. I ran 30 minutes at an 8:00/mile pace with an average heart rate of 147 bpm. It takes about 11 minutes to run to the track so that added 22-23 minutes easy running to the workout. I also ran 26 minuted easy on the treadmill this morning. I want to get in as much easy aerobic running as possible (heart rate in the low to mid 130s) and 30 minutes of faster aerobic running a day at 147-49 bpm. Once a week I am going to do 4 x 1 mile at tempo running pace which right now (with a heart rate of 147 bpm at 8:00 pace) should be about 6:40 pace.
